Program Description
Seton Montessori Institute’s Paraprofessional Course provides a broad foundation in Montessori philosophy, educational techniques and classroom practice. The course is geared for those who are involved with young children, at home or professionally. Prepare yourself to meet the needs of the young children and those of their parents, with a course that encompasses an in-depth view of Maria’s philosophy, as well as techniques for every day work.
Professional Development
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance on the last day for full participation in the program, which includes the completion of an assignment.

Day 2: The Child is a Person Who Works and Communicates
- Overviews of Practical Life and Language
- Observation Techniques
Day 3: The Child is a Person Who Thinks and Solves Problems
- Overviews of Sensorimotor and Math
- The Role of the Montessori Adult
- Working Together in the School Community
Day 4: The Child is a Person Who Loves
- Presentation of Materials
- Introducing the Child to the Cosmos
- Celebrations: Music, The Line and Silence
