Montessori Paraprofessional Preparation Course – March 13-16th
The Seton Montessori Institute will host its next Paraprofessional Preparation Course March 13-16, 2014. The Paraprofessional Course covers the basics of the Montessori approach and an in-depth look at the work the children do in class. For many years participants have increased their understanding and strengthened their effectiveness in working with and supporting children through Seton’s Course.
The course is informative for new Montessori professionals, parents and regular caregivers (nanny, sitter, relative) to facilitate the consistency between the home and school environment. We will discuss many simple techniques that are useful in the home – ground rules, limited and appropriate choices, activities that lead toward independence and a sense of order, etc.
Classes meet for a full day on each of the four days. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion after full participation in the course.
Each day we become more aware of the significance of the adults in a young child’s environment. Prepare yourself to meet their needs (and those of their parents) with a course that encompasses an in-depth view of Maria Montessori’s philosophy, as well as techniques for everyday work.
