Science & Nature
Science and Nature are important curricular areas at Seton Montessori School. Seton approaches these topics in an especially integrated manner:
1) The sciences are experienced through specific lessons with especially designed materials, gardens and parks, and the campus’ many animals;
2) The cultural aspect is incorporated into science learning, such that students learn both facts and the circumstances that led to their discovery;
3) Field visits, observations, journaling, and measurement provide the foundation for use of scientific method.
The sciences, from botany to physics, are incredibly important to our student’s understanding of our physical world.
Seton emphasizes the processes by which young scientists can explore and further comprehend the nature of Earth and of our universe.
