Early Childhood Education
Seton Montessori School offers an integrated, comprehensive preschool experience for children aged three to six years. The program features a variety of classes designed to fit the specific needs of children and families.
Half Day 3-6 Programs
Seton offers both morning and afternoon half-day classes. The Morning Preprimary program is a three hour class (8:30-11:30 a.m.) that meets five days a week. The Afternoon Preprimary program is a two and a half hour class (1:30-4:00 p.m.) that meets five days a week. The early childhood environment allows the child to discover and understand the order of his or her world, culture and universe, while developing skills to equip him or her for full participation in them. All of the curriculum materials are available for exploration and mastery. A variety of scheduling options are available, including three- and four-day (on a limited basis) and five-day schedules.
Extended Day Program
The Extended Day program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. This program is an extension of the class time for morning and afternoon child so he or she has the opportunity to participate in special presentations and studies involving nature, geography, history, language, art, etc. The children eat lunch together, providing a time when special emphasis is given to social grace and courtesy. This program is designed for the child who is ready for additional time in the class and is especially useful for older children.
Spanish Immersion Program
The Spanish Immersion Program offers the preschool child the experience to explore and learn in a Montessori classroom while being surrounded in Spanish language and culture. This program is designed for children between the ages of four and six and can be added to the Morning 3-6 program or All Day program. Spanish Immersion is offered in the afternoon from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
All Day Program
The All Day Montessori program is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and runs five days a week. The choices in program hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and this can include additional hours before or after for those families who need longer hours. With this program we have created a Montessori atmosphere all day with Montessori trained teachers. Our curriculum not only includes the Montessori materials and instruction, which are available throughout the day, but also additional time for outdoor exploration and movement, care of animals and gardens, nature study, art, music and so much more.
