Seton Montessori Elementary is a program that offers children an education steeped in an integrated cultural curriculum. This community cultivates within each student a passion for learning and provides the tools to fuel the child’s quest for knowledge. Through the depth of the curriculum the children learn to integrate and connect ideas, develop critical thinking skills and become independent, lifelong leaders. As a part of an interwoven community of parents and teachers, these confident young global citizens are preparing to know who they are and to act responsibly to serve humanity.
A strong community base is developed in the Montessori Early Childhood classrooms and the elementary program builds on this foundation as the children begin to connect outside their classroom family through exploring the community at large. The Elementary Montessori program delivers a full age-appropriate educational curriculum using an integrated approach to explore math, language, science, social studies and the arts. Each student is invited to become an active participant in his or her own learning process as he or she moves from the concrete world of their earlier years to the threshold of abstract thinking found in the older classrooms. The focus is on building the foundations of organization, self-confidence, cooperation and curiosity all while providing a growing academic challenge.
The Elementary Montessori program hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with before and after school hours offered as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m. The curriculum not only includes the Montessori materials and instruction, but also Spanish, physical education, art, music, Junior Great Books reading program, care of animals and gardens, nature study and so much more!
