Infant & Toddler Education
Our Infant-Toddler Community offers programs for children from two months through three years of age in our Infant, Young Toddler and 2s and 3s classrooms. Families may choose from a full or half day schedule for three to five days a week.
Seton is proud to offer an Infant Care Program housed in its recently constructed state-of-the-art Infant-Toddler House. Fully certified Montessori teachers staff the Infant Care Program and welcome children between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Materials in the Infant environment have been purposefully selected and the nurturing staff is experienced in recognizing developmental milestones in order to nurture and support the learning opportunities of each young child. The warm and nurturing environment promotes a balance of peaceful comfort and engaging stimulation for our youngest students.
Young Toddlers and 2s and 3s
The Young Toddler and 2s and 3s classrooms offer a doorway to learning in a home-like setting that nurtures the spirit while supporting growth and independence. Teachers are specialists in the needs related to each age group, which include such issues as the establishment of autonomy, separation and the first transition to school, toilet learning, etc. The educational program includes every day living skills, activities for sensorimotor and language development, and experiences in arts and sciences.
As educators, we recognize the importance that parents play in their children’s lives; they are the ones most able to affect their child’s education. We value this role and encourage parents to be active participants in the program. Parents are involved in assisting their children to identify their needs and in facilitating the educational experience necessary to meet them.
Classes are held at the state-of-the-art Montessori Infant & Child Community, adjacent to the Seton Montessori main building.
A variety of scheduling options are available, including half-day and full-day schedules, ranging from three to five days a week. The Half Day Program is a two and a half hour class (8:45-11:15 a.m.) and the All Day Program is a seven hour class (9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.). Families can elect to choose additional hours before or after school as necessary, with the All Day Montessori program open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
