Peaceful Pathways Montessori is a Christian Montessori program serving children from 15 months through sixth grade. Our mission is to foster a love of learning, independence, and respect for all individuals within community. Situated on six acres of wooded land, we offer a unique environment that integrates nature and outdoor education into our curriculum. We adhere to the Montessori philosophy and methods, encouraging each child's natural curiosity and development.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Teacher for our 3-6 year old classroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating and safe environment that supports the developmental needs of each child. The teacher will implement the Montessori curriculum, observe and guide children through their learning processes, and collaborate with parents and staff to ensure the holistic development of each student. We are a Christian Montessori program so the candidate must be willing leading children in simple prayers to Jesus, singing children’s Bible songs, and celebrating holidays from a Christian perspective (Christmas and Easter). Additionally, the teacher must be comfortable incorporating outdoor education into daily activities.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement age-appropriate Montessori activities and lessons.

Create a prepared environment that supports independence and learning.

Incorporate outdoor education and nature-based activities into the curriculum.

Observe and document each child’s progress and development.

Guide children in developing practical life skills, sensory experiences, language, mathematics, and cultural understanding.

Foster a positive classroom community.

Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding students’ progress and needs.

Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.

Qualifications:

Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or MACTE accredited) for ages 3-6.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.

Previous experience working with young children in a Montessori setting.

Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and methods.

Comfort and enthusiasm for outdoor education and activities.

Comfort leading children in simple prayer, singing children’s Bible songs, and celebrating holidays from a Christian perspective (Christmas/Easter)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
