Description: We are currently accepting applications for the Summer and Fall 2024-2025 school year for Assistant teachers to join our The Arbor Montessori Family in Lisle, IL! The position is a full-time and or part-time opportunity to work with children.

About Us: The Arbor Montessori School (TAM) offers year-round programs, including school-year and summer camp sessions, for children aged 18 months through Kindergarten, with additional summer programs extending to elementary age. As a home-based Montessori school, we pride ourselves on fostering a nurturing environment where children can develop a deep awareness of themselves and the world around them. Our experienced and dedicated staff supports each child's journey towards independence and curiosity within a structured, mixed-age group setting.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our TAM Family. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with young children and a strong commitment to the Montessori philosophy.

Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher in preparing and maintaining the prepared environment.

Support children’s daily activities, fostering independence and a love for learning.

Work collaboratively with the teaching team to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.

Observe and record children’s progress and share insights with the lead teacher.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a Montessori setting.

A genuine passion for early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong desire to work with children and make a difference

Commitment to learning about Montessori philosophy and education

Commitment to continued professional development

Ability to collaborate with a dynamic teaching team

Physical dexterity and ability to lift children up to 40 pounds

High School Diploma or high school equivalence certificate

Completion of DCFS requirements
