JOB SUMMARY: Under the collaboration of school administration and the direction of the Principal, Assistant Head of Lower School, and Administrative Council, the Montessori Teacher leads efforts to implement the St. Mary of the Angels and the state’s educational standards for Montessori Early Childhood. The Montessori Early Childhood teacher devises daily lesson plans from the curriculum, which should include ways for students to improve their critical thinking, functions, and social-emotional skills. The teacher is responsible for preparing hands-on engagement for students and providing students with the necessary skills to succeed.

EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning, developing, and executing lessons that reflect the curriculum and educational standards.

Adapting Montessori Early Childhood curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups.

Evaluating the academic and social growth of students.

Evaluating student progress and the ability to meet course standards in knowledge and skills.

Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.

Planning and developing lesson plans and teaching outlines.

Employing a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations and discussions.

Utilizing educational equipment, such as materials, books, and other learning aids.

Collaborate with the Administration and Administrative Team to maintain a quality Montessori Early Childhood Classroom.

Maintain positive relationships and communication with colleagues and parents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Education - Early Childhood preferred

Certification in AMI or AMS

Excellent communication skills

Positive collaboration skills with colleagues

Proficient in Internet, Google: Documents, Sheets, and Slides
